Sustainable development goals

In 2015, at a historic United Nations summit, world leaders adopted the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The agenda laid out 17 universal goals that will guide countries in the mobilization of efforts to end all forms of poverty, fight inequalities and tackle climate change, while ensuring that no one is left behind. These 17 goals are known as the Sustainable Development Goals, or SDGs.

Export credit agencies and development finance institutions routinely finance projects that advance the SDGs. In fact, advancing development goals and mitigating environmental impacts are central to the missions of most of these institutions. When we look at our customers and the work that they do, we realize that most of them are doing much to advance the SDGs. We are proud to work in an industry and with customers that are so deeply involved in sustainable development.

Below are some statistics regarding the projects on which we are working now and have worked in the past, and the development goals which they advance. Hover on the SDG icons to learn more about them.
